Performing in NYC and abroad throughout Japan, India, Russia, Europe and North America, Alex’s palet of instruments includes the baritone, tenor, alto, soprano saxophones, flute, piccolo, clarinet, bass clarinet and bassoon. His diverse performance experiences spans a bolly-wood-second-line brass band, choreographed twelve piece street band, big bands, broadway pits, symphonic orchestras, contemporary classical chamber groups, afrobeat groups, funk groups, and rock bands.
Alex has performed with The Norwalk Symphony Orchestra, The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, Erie Pops Orchestra, Erik Satie Quartet, Newspeak, International Contemporary Ensemble, Fireworks Ensemble, Argento Ensemble, Alarm Will Sound, The Asphalt Orchestra and the Euphonique Saxophone Quartet.
A current and active broadway pit woodwind doubler, Alex subs on Frozen, The PROM, Moulin Rouge, The Radio City Musical Hall Orchestra and was the original reed player at Escape To Margaritaville and The Prince Of Broadway.
As side man he has recorded for Disney’s “Incredible’s 2”, The National, Alarm Will Sound, Tristan Perich, Fireworks Ensemble, David Burn, Yoko Ono, Asphalt Orchestra, S-Curve Records, David Sitek, Massive Attack, FOX TV, PBS, FaceBook Music sound library as well as for various commercial jingle houses through out NYC. TV appearances include Duffy on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, St. Vincent on “Late Show with David Letterman”, NBC’s Rockefeller Plaza Christmas Tree Lighting Special.
He is a founding member of JERSEYBAND, AMY LYNN & THE HONEY MEN for which he composes, arranges, and performs. Among these projects Alex has co-produced 10 CD releases and 4 music videos.
Alex’s compositions and arrangements have been heard on TV networks, ABC, WeTV, LOGO TV, and Palladia, as well as at Lincoln Center, Saalfelden International Jazz Fest., Rochester International Jazz Fest, as well as various American Universities.
He has taught master classes at Cornell University, Maryland University, Eastman School of Music, and participated in an Artist in Residence program at Keuka College with his band Jerseyband. He currently teaches saxophone at The Horace Mann School in Riverdale, NY (Bronx), and at Long Island University CW POST.
